Bio:
Montika Kham-on (b. 1999, Samut Prakan, Thailand) is a video artist and filmmaker based in Berlin and Bangkok. Her work operates at the intersection of collective fears, speculative futures, and the survival of marginalized identities. Rejecting dominant institutional narratives, she foregrounds emotional landscapes and embodied knowledge. Drawing from theater, dance, and bodily ritual, not as references, but as modes of resistance. Her practice weaves together movement, language, and silence.
Her short film to you, in 2000 years received an Honorable Mention at the R.D. Pestonji Thai Short Film & Video Festival 2023. Her video art piece Siamese Futurism has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including in Japan, France, and will be featured in an upcoming exhibition in Berlin in September 2025. She was selected to participate in The Silent Workshop, an experimental program organized by Tama Art University and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Montika is a recipient of the DAAD scholarship and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of the Arts Berlin. She is also a member of the àt-sà- jan! collective.
