Bio:

I’m a music producer, sound designer, DJ and music critic born in Cairo, Egypt and based in Berlin, Germany.

My work varies between a large spectrum of styles, combining experimental, club and ambient music. Being interested in human communication my concepts deal with themes inspired by fiction, memory and cultural artefacts. I’ve participated in various festivals in Europe like CTM, Rewire, Primavera Sound, Unsound, Fiber, Lost Music and played many venues around Germany, The Netherlands, France, Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Serbia, Georgia, Egypt and more. I'm part of SVBKVLT roster, and I have previously released my music on Genot Centre, Hush Hush, Yerevan Tapes, Kaer’Uiks among several remixes, and singles on many other labels.

My artistic practice extends to academia, music criticism and critical theory. I hold a master’s degree in digital media from the University of Arts Bremen. In addition, I’ve contributed about 100 articles to the Arabic magazine Ma3azef next to my work as the electronic music editor for the same platform.

CONCEPT

The original version of SUPERSTRUCTURE (the ammunition of the nation) by multi-disciplinary artist Hassan Khan is what I describe as a strong revolution's track. Originally inspired by 2011's Egyptian revolution, the track was devoid of any cliches related to so many revolution's songs that were made back then. In his track, Hassan builds up the tension gradually by introducing new percussive loops, which reaches the perfect climax with the abstract vocal humming and the mizmar. The result is strong and highly energetic. Hassan's conceptual approach has been inspiring for me and I couldn't find a better revolution's track to remix except this one. I reinterpreted the track with the purpose of concentrating its original energetic sense to the maximum.

Here's some words about the remix:
