Bio:
Pinky Htut Aung is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist from Myanmar, started her career as a musician in 2013. Aung’s first group exhibition in 2018; 'Clouds are Thoughts', encouraged her to further explore digital art and art in a more transdisciplinary way, fusing sonic, music and visuals. She is also actively composing for film, documentaries and for video artists from 2020.
CONCEPT
Music is a great means of communication, and many believe that it can also serve as a powerful psychological weapon and gives strength, determination, and motivation to people It has been essential during battles since ancient times, when musicians and poets would accompany armies in campaigns to encourage soldiers and citizens.
This remix is a form of a modern battle music which includes three songs that were played during the early Myanmar military coup in 2021; Kaba Ma Kyei (National Anthem), Myanmar Military Coup Revolution Song by GenZ MM, ending with Threnody by Bouhinga for our fallen heroes, combined with noises from the protest grounds.
